Piolo Pascual denies rekindling romance with KC Concepcion
PIOLO Pascual denied the reports, saying he has rekindled his relationship with former girlfriend KC Concepcion.
Reports said the actor was seen talking with Concepcion at the backstage of weekend program "ASAP XX" and that he sent flowers to the actress.
"No, Kristina (KC) and I are okay, which is a thorn off my chest. Okay na yun," he said in an interview by Cinema News.
"I had that flower, the rose, pero dala ko siya hanggang umuwi ako. So, I never gave it to anyone. The rose was with me the whole time," he added.
Pascual said it was hard to say that he is ready to be in a relationship now because his main priority is his son, Inigo, especially now that the latter is pursuing a career in showbiz.
"Honestly speaking, if I have idle or free time, I devote it to my son because he's here with me. I told him that whenever he's free and he wants me around, I'll drop everything. He's really my priority."
Meanwhile, Pascual said he is happy that KC's mother, megastar Sharon Cuneta returns to ABS-CBN.
During the press conference of Cuneta, she mentioned that she is open to working with younger actors of the Kapamilya station, including Piolo and KC's other ex-flame Paulo Avelino.
Like Sharon, Pascual said he is open to working with the megastar.
"Of course, of course. Napakaliit lang naman ng mundo natin sa industriya para pasikipin natin. I'm very welcome, I'm very open for that, siyempre she's the megastar," he said.
Pascual said he has not seen the megastar yet since her return.
"Hindi pa kami nagkikita. Actually last week when she was here I wanted to greet her pero she was in the other building. When there's a chance, I'll visit her," the actor said.
Pascual is currently filming a movie project with Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo. The film is their first project together.
"Nangangapa pa dahil first day pero hindi naman masyadong mahirap yung mga eksena na ginawa namin. Pero we're doing a lot of training and immersion," he said.
"Nakakatuwa kasi I never thought I'll be working with Sarah kasi nakikita ko lang sa 'ASAP' yun, on-stage, nagpe-perform and grabe yung presence niya. Now I'm happy to get to work with her," he ended. (Sunnex)

New discoveries after marriage
KAPUSO Network's royal couple, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, shared some stories about being married for barely three months now.
Speaking with the Davao entertainment press at New Asia Restaurant last March 16, the (relatively) newly-wed couple disclosed some of the things they discovered about each other only after they got married. The Kapuso super stars were here to join the Dabawenyos in celebrating the 78th Araw ng Dabaw.
For his part, the dashing Kapuso actor said he has realized how organized his wife is.
"I have realized na masyado pala talaga syang maayos sa mga gamit. Pero hindi naman ibig sabihin nun na medyo makalat ako. Mas maayos lang talaga sya sa gamit," said the 34-year-old lead star of "Pari 'Koy", one of the network's newest primetime soaps.
His 30-year-old gorgeous wife, on the other hand, revealed that she never knew that the actor actually snores not until they started living under one roof.
"Kapag medyo pagod sya ay naghihilik pala sya. Humihilik," said the former "Marimar" star who is set to take the lead in the upcoming primetime series "The Rich Man's Daughter," while laughing.
Despite these little discoveries, the multi-awarded actor said that there is not so much to know more about each other.
"Siguro sa mga technical stuff na lang like 'yung mga finances. 'Yung mga bagay na never namin napag-uusapan before," he said.
On having their own children, Dingdong was quick to say that he wants to have their first-born this year.
"Sana this year. We'll see kung ano. Syempre, we're also considering many things right now pero syempre ang basehan namin parati ay kung ibibigay 'yung gift na 'yun ni God, ay syempre it's really a great blessing for us," he said.
As to whether they want their first-born to be a girl or a boy, the Filipino-Spanish actress said it really doesn't matter.
"Ewan ko kung makaka-relate dito ang ibang girls. Kung dati ay sinasabi mo na sana ay lalaki or babae pero kapag dumating na pala ang time na 'yun, ang iisipin mo na lang pala ay sana ay healthy, sana ay maayos 'yung baby," Marian said.

Yerro: Insurgent: Thin plot, great effects
I CANNOT blame movie producers for rushing sequels. Cinemagoers have been infected with the telenovella syndrome: They can't wait to find out what happens to their heroes in the next instalment.
Today, we can't escape film sequels. The Twilight Saga (Breaking Dawn) was cut up into four movies. The Hunger Games has a third sequel about to be released.
Like Hunger Games, Divergent was adopted from a bestselling book for young adults. Both films are set in a future dystopian world, both have a woman leading a rebellion against the established order.
Do you spot a trend here? The Motion Picture Association of America does. According to the MPAA, for the fifth year in a row, majority of moviegoers in the US and Canada are women. "In fact, the number of female moviegoers increased slightly in 2014, while the number of male moviegoers remained flat," the MPAA noted.
That's not all. In 2013, more women tended to watch movies with a female superhero. That explains why Katniss Everdeen is the new face of Girl Power.
Now comes Tris Prior, who has a growing following as the Divergent who is challenging the faction system that rules the crumbling city of Chicago. Insurgent picks up the action from the last scene in Divergent, where fugitives Tris, Four, Tris' brother Caleb and Peter find temporary sanctuary with Amity, who have settled in the wilderness outside Chicago's towering perimeter wall. Their stay with the peace-loving faction is cut short after the forces of Erudite pick up their trail.
Erudite leader Jeanine has a special interest in Tris, the only certified 100-percent Divergent who can open a box containing a message left behind by the city's founders. Jeanine wants to use the message to validate her mandate to rule.
Eric turns against his three companions early on and Caleb sets out on his own, leaving just Tris and Four. The two sneak back into Chicago to try to rally other factions against Erudite. They establish an alliance with Factionless, but get into trouble with Candor, who insist that the two to confess their transgressions with the help of a truth serum.
The story builds up to the inevitable confrontation between Tris and Jeanine at Erudite headquarters. After giving herself up to Jeanine, Tris is subjected to simulation trials, in which she is hooked to cables that transport her to a virtual world (think Neo plugging in in Matrix). She almost flat-lines in the process, but recovers just as Factionless storm the Erudite stronghold.
Tris opens the box, and the message spells the downfall of Jeanine, whose life Tris spares for the second time (In Divergent, she had the chance to kill Jeanine, but sticks a knife into her hand instead, assuring that the evil leader lives on for the sequel).
I understand that the final Divergent book will be split into two movies, so expect Tris and Four to hang around a little longer.
Insurgent upstages Divergent in terms of action and visual effects. Director Robert Schwentke gives the sequel a staccato pace, and there are a few droopy moments. But it is the special effects that make Insurgent shimmer. The simulation trial sets rival 3D video games in scope and spectacle, and the rendering of post-apocalyptic Chicago is strikingly forbidding.
Shailene Woodley is strong yet vulnerable as Tris, who battles inner demons to make sure her parents did not die in vain. But I expect something more from her as her character gets more complicated in the next sequels.
Kate Winslet's Jeanine has lost some of the sting she displayed in Divergent. Theo James has little to show as Four other than his good looks. Ansel Elgort does only slightly better as Caleb.
Despite the thin, predictable plot, Insurgent has that certain sci-fi appeal that lifts it from being just a movie for young adults. And I'm a sucker for sci-fi.

Iza Calzado relishes working with Tia Carrere, Hollywood actors
MANILA. Iza Calzado poses for photographs with American actress Tia Carrere, director Mark Dacascos, and actor Casper Van Dien. (Photo by Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
ACTRESS Iza Calzado is happy and proud to represent Filipino actors in the upcoming Hollywood action flick "Showdown in Manila."
Shot entirely in the Philippines, the movie follows the character portrayed by Russian actor Alexander Nevsky as he hops from one adventure to the next while encountering an interesting array of characters to be played by international stars like Casper Van Dien, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Matthias Hues, Don Wilson, Oliver Gruner, Cynthia Rothrock and American actress Tia Carrere.
In an interview with Iza, the Kapamilya actress said she will play a "badass" policewoman in the movie.
"I fired guns! It's not a long role but it's a badass role. I loved it and I guess it's nice because they don't have this preconceived notion of who I am and they did not typecast me as yung kinakawawa and I get to do something else. It's a breather for me because it's something new. It's refreshing," she said.
Iza said she's honored to be part of the project and hopeful that she was able to show positive things about the country and its people.
"I always pray for that -- that in some way I could represent the country positively. Even when I work with people, I try to be in my best behavior because I want to represent our nation in a positive way. Parang feeling ko I have to do well not just on cam, but also off cam," she said.
"If they will not like working with me, they might think everyone else is like this or that. They were asking me are there a lot of Filipino actors who speak English the way I do. I said there are a lot of exceptional talented Filipinos."
Aside from working with A-list stars, Iza said she was thrilled to be in the company of Carrere, who was born to Filipino parents.
Iza said she followed Carrere's career in Hollywood and was able to watch her movies and television series.
"I was so starstruck! It was so much fun on the set and getting to bond with Tia was like a dream come true. Growing up, she was this beautiful, exotic Filipino that we all knew about. We are so proud of Tia, watching her in the Hollywood big screen, and now we exchange messages so that's so awesome," she said.
The actress added that the Hollywood film came at the right time as she's looking for "outside the box" kind of projects.
"It's great because I have more friends in LA when I go there. I really want to go there in May and take a couple of classes if I can. Now I have more friends to get in touch with and to ask what to do there," she said.
Asked if this means she's more open to doing US-based projects, Iza replied: "I'm just keen to do anything that the universe gives me. If I'm there and somebody tells me there's a reading for this character and they're looking for a Southeast Asian actor, why not?"
Directed by Mark Dacascos, "Showdown in Manila" will grace the big screen later this year and will have screenings in Russia and the US. (Sunnex)

Environment documentary wins UN award
THE ENVIRONMENTAL documentary "Oras Na| aired over GMA Network won in the first edition of the International Award for Best TV Documentary on Disaster Risk Reduction.
The only nominee and winning entry from the Philippines, “Oras Na” was named Best Investigative Story during the awarding ceremony at the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Sendai, Japan, last March 16. It was tied with BBC Panorama’s Britain Underwater in the category.
Organized by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) and its partners, the Asia Broadcasting Union (ABU) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the International Award for Best TV Documentary on Disaster Risk Reduction seeks to honor works that spotlight human stories, investigation, and innovation.
“Oras Na,” produced by GMA News and Public Affairs and hosted by Richard Gutierrez, was an ambitious production that took many months in the making. The 70-minute environmental documentary aired on GMA-7’s Sunday Night Box Office in 2011 and revealed the never before seen impact of ecological exploitations from the most remote to the highly urbanized areas in the country.
With the use of time-lapse recording, the documentary presented visual evidence of the degradation of the country’s rainforests, shortage of clean water, the significant decline of fossil fuels, and the looming collapse of marine resources from over harvesting and destructive fishing.
“Oras Na” also received the Martine Filippi Award for Discovery in the 31st International Union Radiophonique et Télévisuelle Internationale (URTI) Grand Prix for Author’s Documentary held in Monte Carlo, Monaco in 2012.

Cinderella: Oldie but a goodie
I must admit, although I have lots of love for Disney and have seen many of their movies back in the day, it surprises some of my friends that I've never seen the "Disney princess" kinds of movies. Having grown up with a brother, the Disney films I was raised on were stuff like Lion King, Aladdin and Hercules. That being said, knowing nearly nothing about Cinderella except the big plot points everyone already knows about, I thoroughly enjoyed the new live-action rendition of Cinderella.
I would like to get this out of the way: the movie is extremely charming. The film is such a visual treat as every scene bursts with color much like, maintain a certain sense of "Disney-ness" that you can also see from their animated films. The splendor of the colors of the movie had me smiling all the way through.
And while the visuals are a treat, even better are the characters who are just teeming with personality. The onscreen universe feels full of life thanks to the performances of Lily James (Cinderella), Richard Madden (Prince) and most of all, Cate Blanchett (Stepmother).
For James and Madden who portray Cinderella and the Prince, respectively, there's a certain honest to goodness way about how they play their characters that makes them feel like genuine people instead of characters in a film, and I think that makes them more relatable and believable. James in particular seems to be at her best and most touching when you see her tending to the animals inside their house. It's not exactly Oscar material and there are no scenes I can pick out for either of them where they show off a great deal of complexity of their characters, but since it's a child's movie I feel like they did well enough with how they were written, given that they're pretty straightforward characters.
The true standout performance of the movie is that of Cate Blanchett who portrays the Stepmother. She's not an over-the-top kind of meanie, but she seems perfect as an evil stepmother. There's something very subtle about her that just screams "evil," like particularly in her first scene that even though she looks very elegant and classy, you can tell that she's someone you can't really trust.
She shines most in her haughtiness which is highlighted in the early ways she mistreats Cinderella, like how she purposefully tips a plate over to get Cinderella to pick it up and how she tells her not to eat with them. She is also the only one with real powerful scenes in the film as well, marked by her animosity towards Cinderella in the later parts of the film as she constantly tries to derail Cinderella's plans, but without the sort of subtlety she carried earlier in the film. Cate Blanchett is easily the best performer in this film, impressing with her ability to be both subtle and straightforward, both sly and blunt in her portrayal as the evil stepmother.
It's also quite of note how much personality the minor characters have. In particular, Cinderella's stepsisters provide plenty of comic relief for how tactless and untalented they are, and a scene with a painter will most definitely have you at least giggling, just like the entire theater did when I saw it. These little details about the minor characters just oozing with personality help give the movie and the universe inside it even more life.
I'd also like to point out the costume and set design in the film. The sets are all built so beautifully and feel very appropriate for the setting, as are the costumes. While the story is a fairy tale, I'm glad that none of the costumes seem to over-the-top or excessive. The dresses of the female characters for the ball, in particular, feel fancy but remain looking like something would actually wear in the real world.
One gripe I have with the movie is how some of the lines are repeated to death. Quotes about identity and tradition are repeated so much throughout the movie that it sometimes feels lazy that they couldn't find another way for the characters to say it or draw up a scene where they could have shown them instead. For a child, it's alright, but since most of the people reading this review are already grown-up, you may find its repetitiveness annoying and unnecessary.
All in all, Cinderella retreads familiar territory but looks to win you over with the charm of its characters, colors and plot. It's nothing new or thought-provoking, but it shows that the tale of Cinderella stands the test of time, and can charm even the older audience who are newcomers to the story.
Cinderella score: 7.9/10

Tia Carrere stars in PH-based movie
TIA Carrere is thrilled to be part of upcoming movie "Showdown in Manila," which will be shot in the country.
Now on her third visit, the American actress-singer of Filipino descent also shared she is looking forward to reconnect with relatives.
"It’s been so great. I've been spending a lot of time with my cousin and our family, and tasting all the food of my childhood and my grandma used to make. It has been old home, hanging out with Hollywood friends, and also coming back. It's good to be here," she said Sunday at the movie's press conference.
Tia said that in her last visit, she had the opportunity to visit El Nido, Palawan, a town blessed with pristine beaches, marble cliffs and rich wildlife.
"It was amazing. I had dinner on a sandbar in the middle of the ocean, the South China Sea. In the middle of the ocean, a sandbar, and they had dinner. They said we have a surprise for you. On a speedboat, in the middle of the ocean, you see the torches and dinner. These are amazing experiences we can’t even explain back in the States. This is a magical place," she said.
Meanwhile, Tia said she's grateful to director Mark Dacascos for including her in the cast of "Showdown in Manila."
A good friend of Tia, Damascos is known to Filipinos as "Chairman" in cooking competition "Iron Chef America." He’s been to the Philippines five times. Damascos' father is a Filipino, she said.
"I love Mark Dacascos and we've known each other for 30 years and he's such a positive, kind and enthusiastic playmaker in Hollywood. We've worked together on ‘General Hospital.’ We've been friends for a very, very long time and when he called me and said, 'Tia, I'm doing this movie, my first full movie. Will you be there?' I said absolutely," Tia said.
"He's Filipino, I'm Filipino, I have family here. I came here half to visit my family and half to do the movie and eat the food. Sarap!"
Aside from the Hollywood actors, Tia will work with local talents Jake Macapagal and Iza Calzado.
"I'm so happy hanging out with Iza and making new friends from Russia, from all over the world. Alexander (Nevsky) is putting this big crew together and that's something you don't see every day. It's great to be here. It's wonderful to do collaboration with these people," she said.
"And when we see, like Iza said, 'when we see you're a Filipino, we rally behind you.' And I think there's really that community of Filipinos around the world, even if we're part, even if we're one half, one quarter, it's Pinoy pride," Tia added.
She's also happy that Filipino talents are being recognized around the world. Tia said there’s big potential for Filipino actors in the international film market.
"We are very talented people on all across, you know, singing, dancing and acting. But it's kind of funny because Filipinos' great strength is that we can assimilate into many different cultures. But also, in the same token, we hold on to our culture and identity," she said.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Filipino parents, 48-year-old Tia made a name in Hollywood through her acting and musical stints.
She appeared in movies "Enemy (Fatal Mission)," "True Lies," "Rising Sun," "The Immortals," television series "General Hospital," "Tour of Duty," "MacGyver," "The O.C," and participated in "Dancing with the Stars Season 2," "The Celebrity Apprentice," among others.
Tia, a two-time Grammy Award winner, also lent her voice to one of the characters in Disney Pictures' "Lilo & Stitch." (Sunnex)

"Sabi ng doctor aalisin na pero ayaw niya. Naniniwala pa siya na meron pang milagrong mangyayari. Sabi niya, hanggat hindi siya dinudugo ng normal, hindi niya aalisin. Sabi ko nga baka delikado din yun. Hindi naman daw sabi ng doctor. Natural naman daw na lalabas yun," he said.
Rodriguez was eight weeks pregnant when the couple found out that the baby had no heartbeat.
Padilla uploaded a video on his Facebook page last March 19 recalling the moment when the doctor informed them of the unfortunate news.
In the video, Rodriguez was seen excited at first but later on became emotional while she was telling someone of the baby's condition on the telephone.
The actor wrote in the said post that they did plan his wife's pregnancy and waiting for it to happen.
"Nagkasundo kami ng aking asawa kung kailan dapat mag anak. Nag antay kami at nagplano, ngunit wala sa amin ang kapangyarihan para magbigay ng buhay. Purihin ang nag-iisang Panginoong Maylikha at ang kanyang kadakilaan," he said.
Padilla added in the Cinema News interview that his wife's miscarriage was disappointing but he said he is ready to be a father again.
"Hindi magaan sa kanya [Mariel] kasi bago e. Siguro, wag naman mangyari ulit, unang shock ito sa kanya e. Hindi pwede na agad agad. Ang tagal namin plinano at kung kelan hindi namin plinano doon nangyari. Handa na siya, handa na ako, handa na ang mga bata," he said.
The couple was married in August 2010 at the Taj Mahal in India.

"We are pleased to have Willie Revillame's program in the network. Willie has a very large following. Through our partnership with WBR Entertainment, GMA Network will be a part of the long awaited return of Willie Revillame on television," Gozon said.

Know Matteo Guidicelli's birthday wish
ACCEPTANCE and happiness.
Actor Matteo Guidicelli, however, was initially hesitant to answer the question when asked by reporters covering a press conference for his newest project "Wheels TV."
"I want to say it but I can't," he said. But after much prodding, Matteo added: "My birthday wish is just, you know, for everybody to be happy and accepting for one another."
The Cebuano actor said that his answer pertains to "everything" and not just on his love life.
"I can't put it in detail. But the truth is, yun, just to be happy," said Matteo, who will turn 25 on March 26.
Rumors circulated recently that the actor and girlfriend, singer Sarah Geronimo, have already broken up.
Matteo immediately dismissed this speculation during the press conference of his latest Kapamilya series "Inday Bote".
"Okay naman kami. Masaya naman kami. That’s just negative stuff to bring us down. But it’s not going to bring us down. Sarah and I, we are strong. We’re going strong and sana we’ll forever be strong," he said.
This statement was supported by a video showing him and Sarah watching last week's concert of British balladeer Ed Sheeran.
When someone from the press commented that he was hugging Sarah very tight, the actor smiled and replied: "Sobrang happy yung buhay ko ngayon. Siyempre naman baka mawala pa sa akin."
Matteo said they watched the sold-out concert without a chaperon. (Sunnex)

Albert Martinez says late wife Liezl irreplaceable
DAYS after the passing of his wife Liezl, actor Albert Martinez thanked everyone who mourned with their family.
"Your concern and prayers show us that my wife Liezl is well-loved and will be sorely missed. Thank you for honoring Liezl’s wish for privacy as she fought cancer in the last few months of her life," Albert said on Instagram.
He added that Liezl, who died last March 14 after losing her eight-year battle with breast cancer, was strong and positive despite her health condition.
Albert said his wife of 30 years is irreplaceable.
"She remained strong, courageous and unwavering throughout the battle — which made me love her all the more. She was not just a celebrity or a public servant — for us, she was a supportive wife, devoted mother, loving daughter, caring cousin, a doting aunt," he said.
"We will miss all the wonderful things that she was in our lives. Although I lost her, she will forever remain a precious jewel, a gem that can never be replaced in my heart."
The actor asked for everyone's support and prayers as they move forward in life.
"Please continue praying for our family as we try to overcome our grief and loneliness in the coming days. A thousand white roses for you, my Liezl," he said.
Meanwhile, Albert is still mum on claims of mother-in-law, veteran actress Amalia Fuentes, that she and Liezl's father, Romeo Vasquez, were excluded from the final rites for her daughter.
Amalia was mad when she stormed out of the Arlington Memorial Crematorium last Monday, telling the waiting members of the media that they were not even mentioned during the cremation ceremony of her daughter.
She also claimed that no one informed her of the cremation site.
"Alam ninyo ba kung bakit ako na-late? Hindi ko alam saan gagawin. Sila sila ang nag-decide, yung mga bestfriend, yung mga ganun. Ako, where was I? Nowhere. Nobody talked to me," Amalia said.
The veteran actress said she's the most affected by Liezl's passing.
"For the longest time I was never a part of their lives but I was always there for her. The last time I talked to her, she was all alone in her bedroom and she was crying. I can never replace Liezl. I was hoping na mauuna ako. I was thinking na I will not experience this day, which is the worst day of my life. I feel like ako dapat ang mamatay," Amalia said. (Sunnex)

One Direction concert organizers told to pay P400,000 bond
Photo from One Direction Facebook page
ORGANIZERS for this weekend's concert of international band One Direction were directed Thursday by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to post a cash bond worth P400,000 before allowing the hit British group to perform in the country.
BI spokesperson Elaine Tan said the imposition of the cash bond was due to allegations that two members of the heartthrob boy band are using illegal drugs.
Videos of One Direction members, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, smoking marijuana while on their way to a concert in Peru in April last year, became viral, upsetting fans.
“The imposition of cash bond was pursuant to the referral of the Anti-Drugs Advocate, Laban ng Pamilyang Pilipino, Inc. (ADA), requesting for strict scrutiny of applicants for SWP (special work permit), particularly those with purported links to drug use," Tan said in a statement.
Malik and Tomlinson, through the concert producer, were directed to post cash bonds of P200,000 each, which would be forfeited in case they commit any immigration violation or are caught using or promoting illegal drugs.
The band will be prevented from performing on March 21 and 22 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Pasay City should the producer, Music Management International, fails to post the cash bond prior to those dates, Tan said.
One Direction is behind hit songs "What Makes You Beautiful," "Story of My Life," "Best Song Ever," "Kiss You," and "One Thing," among others. (FP/Sunnex)

Tom considers himself an 'infant' in acting
KAPUSO actor Tom Rodriguez is still considering himself an "infant" when it comes to acting.
In an interview with the Davao entertainment press on Sunday at Chippens Buffet Restaurant, the 27-year-old Filipino-American actor said it is his desire to work with different actors, even production crews, for him to continuously improve his acting skills.
"I'm still a very new actor. In fact, I still consider my acting in infancy stage...I still want to learn more that's why I wanna work with different actors," said the 5'11" hunk who was here with other Kapuso stars for the celebration of the 78th Araw ng Dabaw.
The actor of the "My Husband's Lover" fame explained that honing one's craft, particularly acting, can be likened to painting -- the more colors added to your palette, the more varieties you can actually paint.
"So 'yung acting, habang nakakatrabaho mo ang mas maraming artista ay lumalawak ang palette mo, 'yung colors mo na pang-paint mo with your brush (In acting, as you work with more actors, your color palette expands soyou get more colors to paint with your brush)," he said.
When it comes to accepting roles, the "Don't Lose The Money" host was quick to say that it all depends on a number of factors. Good thing, though, that his management, Luminary Talent Management, talks to them first about the projects being offered before deciding to accept it or not.
"Every time naman that there is a role for us, that's how we work at Luminary, kami nina Dennis (Trillo), that our managers tell us that there are coming in na pino-propose sa amin. He reads the script beforehand and he proposes to us. So we look at it and check it out," he said.
Tom said that if the project gives him excitement or compels him to do because he has a co-star whom he wants to work with or the material itself is compelling, he is surely accepting the offer.
"It could really be a lot of factors. Sometimes, nababasa mo 'yung material and you just can't really pass it up na, kahit pa minsan ay for audition pa, you really audition for the role (When you read the material, you get awed by it and you just can't make it pass, even if it will just be for an audition piece, you really grab it)," he said.
The Zambales-born actor, whose mother hails from Samar, cited his part in Star Cinema's "Praybeyt Benjamin" and Viva Film's "Petrang Kabayo" as among the projects that certainly got him excited. Both movies were starred by Vice Ganda.
Speaking of projects, Tom will be seen acting opposite Bea Alonzo in a supporting role in an upcoming Star Cinema movie called "Crossroads."
"I'm Bea's fiance here," he said.
When asked why with Star Cinema, the actor quipped: "Kasi wala naman akong exclusive contract for movies. So I'm glad that Star Cinema is still getting me for their projects."
