Clean water for 4 Albay villages

MANILA, Philippines - More than 1,000 households in four barangays in Camalig town in Albay stand to benefit from an P8-million water supply system that was recently opened by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
Interior Secretary Mar Roxas said the project, dubbed “Patak ng Buhay,” would serve the villages of Baligang, Taladong, Comun and Cotmon.
The project was funded by the Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig para sa Lahat program of the government’s Bottom-Up Budgeting initiative.
Villagers used to walk for 15 minutes to fetch water, which needs to be boiled before it can be used for drinking.
