Private manning company donates motor bancas to 31 fishermen in Tanauan

TANAUAN, Leyte, February 23 (PIA) – In line with the recovery and rehabilitation program of the National Government and the local government of Tanauan, Leyte, the Magsaysay Manning Company together with Homer Foundation is set to distribute 31 motor bancas to fishermen of Tanauan, Leyte at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon of February 23, 2014, at the Bantay Dagat Area.
Mr. Eugene Ramos, municipal Community Development Information Officer, said that beneficiaries are fishermen from the fishing villages of Bislig, Cabuynan, Santo Nino and San Roque, all in the town of Tanauan.
The said fishing boats will be part of the livelihood components for the recovery and rehabilitation of the Yolanda victims.
No less than the representatives of the Magsaysay Manning and the Homer Foundation and Tanauan Mayor Pel Tecson will be present at the venue for the turnover of the fishing boats.
It was learned that the Magsaysay Manning Company will also donate 19 motor bancas for the municipality of Palo, Leyte.
It was also learned that 10 other fishermen earlier received fishing boats from Ciara Marie Abalos Foundation while 10 other fishermen received 10 fishing boats from Senator Cynthia Villar.
All of these activities are in coordination with the Ahon Project of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. (PIA 8)
