Jailer-Inmate Friendship Games slated in Maasin

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology of the Maasin City Detention Center has organized the First ever Friendship Games between its detainees at the Provincial jail this September 30.The event which will be held at the Provincial Jail compound in Barangay Asuncion, Maasin City will be heralded as the “Panagtagbo, Panaghimamat, Panaghigalaay, Pinaagi sa Paugnat sa Kusog.” The project was initiated by Jail Senior Inspector Arlene T. Barraca in coordination with the Southern Leyte Provincial Jail and the City and Regional Trial Courts. The games ere sanctioned by the courts if supervised by jail administrators from Monday 1:00 to 5:00 PM until October 27. This competition aims to foster camaraderie between inmates and to foster among the community that rehabilitating criminals is every law abiding citizens concern.
