Motorist gunned down by unidentified malefactors

A lone rider driving his motorcycle was shot by three (3) unidentified malefactors while traversing the National Highway in Purok 5 at Brgy. Bantigue, Ormoc City, 8 o’clock in the morning, Thursday August 15, 2013.

Responding policemen led by Police Senior Inspector Rio M. Tan, deputy chief Ormoc City Police Station 1 found the dead body of the victim in cold blood lying beside the rice field.

 

Witnesses said the victim was suddenly jerked from behind by the Silver Gray Toyota Corola GL 1.6 model with plate number PSE 332 sending the riding motorist along his Black Honda motorcycle to the direction of the rice paddies eventually throwing him to the rice field and his motorcycle into the rice canal followed closely behind toward the left direction by the slamming car.

The occupants of the car immediately alighted and quickly shot the victim to death. Then, they  flagged a passing Tri-cycle, a public transport common in the city, toward the direction of Brgy. Ipil, Ormoc City leaving behind their Toyota car.

Police report disclosed that the driver of the Tri-cycle public transport taken by the fleeing perpetrators identified one of the suspects in the police rogue gallery now sought by police operatives.

Victims’ body was identified by his brother as the one (1) of Christopher Fiel Tomada now brought home and lying in estate in their residence.

Police yet have to determine the motive behind the murder and seeks community assistance for witnesses to come out to shed light and sign up affidavits to the incident so that the perpetrators maybe put behind bars, said Ormoc City Police Office city director, Police Senior Superintendent Elizar Patano Egloso.

PSSUPT Egloso ordered Ormoc City Police Office 1 chief and police operatives to seriously look into the matter of the case and to swiftly charge the suspects as warranted.

Any information that will lead to the identity and whereabouts of the suspects could be reported to OCPO HOTLINE 255-2232 for immediate action so that justice maybe served the family of the victim, PSSUPT Egloso concluded.
