3 died, 3 wounded in motorcycle collision in Ormoc national highway

A road mishap claimed three lives and seriously wounded three others following a head-on collision of two single motorcycles around 5:10 p.m. of August 23 along the national highway in Brgy. Margen, Ormoc City, said PO2 Arvin Sarcilla of police station 3.

Steverod Cabudol, 19, died on the spot, while Rico Aguinod, 28 was declared dead on arrival at the Ormoc District Hospital and Vidal Bayo, of legal age, died 10 hours later in the hospital. Confined at ODH were Julito Alob, 43; Marlito Alob, 20; and driver Wilfredo Cabanada, 28. All were severely wounded. Police said Cabudol was alone in his motorcycle, with plate number 6810 HC, when it collided with another motorcycle, a Motorstar 3546 HN driven by Cabanada, which curbed to the other lane coming from the opposite direction.

Cabanada was carrying four passengers and they were going to Lilo-an. The fatalities left their families who reside in San Juan, Lilo-an and Libertad. The vehicle driven by Cabanada was thrown to the road shoulder and the passengers scattered after the accident. It was not clear, however, if the victims were drunk during the accident.
