Move to ban GMOs divides stakeholders during hearing

THE move that seeks to ban genetically modified crops (GMC) in Cebu City has drawn mixed reactions from stakeholders.
Banning GMCs is covered by a proposed ordinance entitled “An Ordinance Safeguarding Cebu City from Genetically Modified Crops of 2015,” authored by Councilor Nestor Archival.
GMCs are crops or plants that are produced through genetic engineering.
