Probe pushed on cop with gambling ‘link’

A HIGH-RANKING police official ordered an investigation on a police officer who is allegedly protecting an illegal gambling operator in Barangay Poblacion Pardo, Cebu City.
Senior Supt. Marciano Batiancela Jr., Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) acting director, said he tasked the Investigation and Detective Management Branch (IDMB) to check the allegation of Poblacion Pardo Barangay Captain Altea Lim.
Lim complained that a policeman under CCPO approached her and requested her not to destroy the motherboards of four illegal gambling machines seized in an operation, radio dyAB reported.
