Editorial: Cleaning waterways

THE Movement for Livable Cebu (MLC) first surfaced in the Cebuano public’s consciousness when it opposed the construction of two flyovers in Cebu City a few years back. That effort proved to be successful, although credit should not be given solely to the MLC considering that other sectors and Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama also opposed the flyover projects. But the group can be credited for spreading awareness about the need to protect Cebu’s heritage and the environment.
