Masbate gov to join Napoles in Camp Bagong Diwa - ABS CBN News

MANILA - The Sandiganbayan has ordered the detention of Masbate Governor Rizalina Seachon-Lanete at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology female dormitory in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig after her surrender on Wednesday.

Lanete is facing graft and plunder charges for allegedly pocketing P100 million in kickbacks from her Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) when she was still Masbate representative.

Businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles, the alleged architect of the pork barrel scam, and Atty. Jessica "Gigi"Reyes, the former chief aide and co-accused of Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, are also detained in Camp Bagong Diwa.

Lanete was earlier detained at the office of the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Camp Crame after surrendering to CIDG Director Benjamin Magalong Wednesday night.

Her lawyers filed a motion asking the anti-graft court that she be detained at the PNP Custodial Center, citing death threats, which they said, warrant a more secure detention facility.

The governor's surrender came after the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division released a warrant for her arrest.
