At Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the alleged overpriced Makati City Hall Building 2, Atty. Renato Bondal revealed that cakes given to senior citizens during their birthdays and golden wedding anniversary are also overpriced.
Bondal said cakes cost more than 1,000 pesos, which are more expensive compared to similar cakes of two popular cake stores in the country tagged with 570 and 390 pesos.

The lawyer added that this is being used to lure senior citizens of Makati city but nobody knows how much the cakes cost.
“Although there is a catch on ‘related anomalies,’ I was expecting it would be related to buildings. So maybe Atty. Bondal, let’s skip the cake. Let’s make that the subject of another resolution,” Senator Aquilino Pimentel III, Senate Blue Ribbon sub-committee chair said during the hearing.
On the other hand, Senator Trillanes defended Bondal, “I think Atty. Bondal was trying to prove a point that in Makati” not only the building is overpriced but also the cakes.
