Ormoc City Sports with Save The Children After Haian-Yolanda SuperTyphoon

When Ormoc City was hit by the Super Storm Haian-Yolanda, 95% of Infrastructures in the said city was devastated and that includes all sports facilities of the government, as well of all member schools of Ormoc City Schools Sports Organization (OCSSO).

With the good heart of the Save the Children International, heed the call of City Councilor RUBEN R. CAPAHI, he said, "We all know that every school will soon be opened and the children will continue their learning, there will be assignments and projects but we have to understand that those children/students were affected by the typhoon that causes destruction of their home and their family lives. Children must have the outlet for fun and enjoyment through sports and must be stress debriefed" since Atty. Capahi is incharge of the City Sports Program, he wanted that the sports activities must continue.

And because of SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL (SCI), an independent organization, who stand as the Main Sponsor of this OCSSO's 7th Season 2nd Coference, the players of each different sports event is provided with uniforms, sports equipment, transportation service, insurance, rehabilitation of sports venue and most importantly 100% safe guarding from any sort exploitation and harassment.

On Friday, February 28, 2014 at 3 P.M. at the Brgy. Punta Covered Court was the Opening Ceremony of the said conference and we were happy seeing our kids on their sports attire again. Thank You Mayor Edward C. Codilla, Councilor Ruben R. Capahi, Save The Children International and Everyone for Your Support & the Love of Sports.
