The Supreme Court (SC) committee investigating the alleged graft and corruption in the Judiciary has invited Arlene Angeles Lerma to shed light on allegations that she is the “Ma’am Arlene,” the lady touted as “high profile fixer” in the trial courts.
A statement issued by the SC Public Information Office (PIO) stated that Lerma would face the committee headed by Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen as a resource person.
“In its forthcoming 14th meeting, the Committee has invited Ms. Arlene Angeles Lerma, among other resource persons, to attend. It has served its invitation to Ms. Lerma at her last known address and also through other persons who know Ms. Lerma personally,” the PIO statement also said.
Lerma was reported to be a former Manila City hall employee.
It was reported that Lerma left the country in October last year. It was not known immediately whether or not she has returned.
At the same time, the PIO said that the Leonen committee is expected to come out with the results of its investigation during the SC summer sessions in Baguio City starting next month. (Rey G. Panaligan)
