Ormoc slowly rising from tragedy

Ormoc City, one of the areas in Leyte devastated by typhoon Tyolanda, is slowly going back to normal. Ormoc is the second most developed city in Leyte, next to Tacloban City. It also suffered a similar disaster in the past -- the 1991 flashflood that killed thousands of people. Residents of the city are trying to go back to how they were before the typhoon.

Despite having no electricity, some stores are going back to business. Public transportation has also resumed.

Despite the lack of relief goods, there were no incidents of looting reported in the city. However, debris is still scattered in some barangays in Ormoc. Some of the first relief goods that reached the city arrived on Wednesday, when a C-130 cargo plane arrived at the city.
