Palompon gets bulk of Rep. Lucy Torres’ PDAF

Leyte Rep.Lucy Torres Gomez appeared to have favor the town of Palompon as she poured in huge amount of her pork barrel to it compared to the rest of the areas under her congressional district. Based on the records of the Department of Budget and Management, out of her P35 million Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF),Gomez allocated more than P14 million to Palompon, the town where she said to have posted the biggest win against her opponent during the May 13, 2013 elections. Gomez obtained more than 14,000 votes against former Ormoc City Mayor Eric Codilla in Palompon. Among the projects that were allocated by Gomez to Palompon included a road project in Barangay San Joaquin in the amount of P1.2 million; construction of multi-purpose halls with a cost of P500,000 each; financial assistance for sports-related program at P 2 million; P5 million for medical mission and P4 million as financial assistance which include burial, milk and feeding programs, among others.
The city of Ormoc, where her husband Richard Gomez lost on his mayoralty bid, was given an allocation of more than P7 million intended for various projects and programs. Among the projects included the construction of an office of the PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) located at Camp Downes at P1.5 million. Project on the constructions of a multi-purpose building and pavements in the city were also funded by Gomez pork barrel.
Gomez also allocated about P2.8 million of her pork barrel to the town of Kananga, where her brother ran but lost as mayor during the recently-held elections. Construction of a flood control in Brgy. Rizal of said town had the biggest allocation at P1.3 million. Gomez also provided the other towns in the fourth district of her pork barrel intended for various programs and projects.
For Isabel, she gave P1.5 million for construction of a barangay road; P3.9 million for Albuera for various barangay road constructions; P1 million for Merida intended for construction of multi-purpose building and multi-purpose pavement.nGomez also allocated of her pork to the provincial government for medical assistance and to the regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development of combined amount of P12 million.
