Body found afloat Ormoc Bay



Ormoc City Police Station 1 personnel assisted in pulling ashore a cadaver found by a fisherman floating on the waters of Ormoc Bay in District 1, Ormoc City, Tuesday August 27, 2013. Police report disclose that the fisherman, Mr. Danilo Vicera, resident of Brgy. Linao, Ormoc City, said he found the unidentified male cadaver afloat on the waters of Ormoc Bay 5 kilometers far from the Ormoc seaport. The report reached police authorities called by District 1 Brgy. Kagawad Rafael Daffon, who also facilitated the bringing in the body ashore.

The cadaver apparently sustained several wounds on different parts of the body, bloated and was decomposing when reached by responding policeman on the shore at District 1, Ormoc City.

The cadaver was immediately transported to the City Health Office for post mortem examination. Police here have yet to determine the motive and cause of death of the victim. Meanwhile, families with missing family member can visit the City Health Office where the dead was taken to check the unidentified cadaver for identification and to claim the body of the victim to afford him proper rites of interment, says Police Community Relations chief PSUPT.
