Do you like this story?
The government of this city offered yesterday R500,000 cash to anyone who can give any information that would lead to the arrest of defeated mayoral candidate Marilou “Malot“ V. Galenzoga who, along with her supporters, stormed the city hall last Sunday afternoon.
Mayor Carmen L. Cari offered the cash reward after Galenzoga fled to Manila after leading a mob in raiding the city hall.
Cari said Galenzoga was charged with seven counts of criminal charges before the Leyte Provincial Prosecutor’s Office here.
A total of 734 supporters of Galenzoga are also facing criminal charges. They are still detained at the Leyte Sub-Provincial Jail and Baybay City Jail for the same offense.
“Let the rule of law prevail and we will apply the law as we have been very compassionate on her before,“ Mayor Cari said.
Cari said the police is still conducting their investigation as to the damage on the property of the city hall which were destroyed when the group of the defeated tried to take over the city hall.
