Mayor Ondo reminds employees not to exploit government vehicles

On the first official working day of the new elected officials of this city, Mayor Edward “Ondo” Codilla together with the 13th Sangguniang Panlungsod members gathered early Monday for their first flag-raising ceremony. All of them delivered their messages to update the city employees of their aim in serving the people. Mayor Ondo emphasized that he wants the LGU vehicles be used only for official duty and never for personal purposes.

Enumerating his main programs by continuing what his younger brother, ex-Mayor Eric Codilla, prioritized for nine years, he will further give same priorities. Again, same do’s and don’t’s he will be imposing such as the strict execution of what the law dictates like preventing the city employees of using government vehicles in fetching their kids in school. Mayor Ondo likewise informed that all of these vehicles should be parked at its designated parking areas beyond office hours except those with official reasons.

In his speech, Mayor Ondo promised harmonious working relations with the legislative body led by Vice Mayor-elect Leo Carmelo “Toto” Locsin and is looking forward of joint endeavors with the lawmakers for the benefit of all Ormocanons. His intentions was precisely proven of the same direction with the legislatures when VM Locsin declared he would be working together with the elected councilors in harmony with the local chief executive to whatever will do good for Ormoc. Majority of the elected councilors are from the opposition.

Prior to their official duty, all of the newly-elected officials in their best barong tagalog quickly delivered messages to the government employees right after the flag-raising and emphasizing their priorities of governance. All of them showed support to each others’ undertakings in extending services to the people of Ormoc.
