Mao kini ang hulagway sa simbahang katoliko kaniadtong panahong dekada cuatenta. St. Peter & Paul Church in Ormoc City could be one of the oldest church in western Leyte if it was not reduced to rubble during the Spanish era. Erected as a parish in 1850, when it was declared by the Governor General separating Ormoc from its mother parish in Palompon.
