DSWD needs for 400 community workers

The Department of Social Welfare and Development is currently accepting applicants under its cash for work and food for work programs. Four hundred (400) community workers, preferably male, 200 for the day shift and another 200 for the night shift, Ms. Vina Aquino, DSWD 8 Information Officer said.
The day shift will work from 7:00 o’clock in the morning to 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon; and for the night shift, work schedule is from 6:00 o’clock in the evening to 6:00 o’clock in the morning. Applicants must register at the DSWD Command Center at Apitong Road, Tacloban City near Citi Hardware.
Step 1 in the registration procedure is at the Gate or Guard Area where a DSWD staff assesses the eligibility of the community worker. The community worker will choose either the cash for work or food for work.
Step 2 is at the first tent near the gate and entails the registration of community workers.
Step 3 entails the deployment to warehouse facilitated by DSWD staff.
Ms. Aquino said the community workers will have four-day work duration. No 18 years old and below and elderly will be allowed to work she added. The community worker must secure number identification card and must bring their own food and water.
