Senate security studying CCTV footage to spot Ruby Tuason's visits - GMA News

Senate security officials are currently trying to spot witness Ruby Tuason's supposed visits to Senator Jinggoy Estrada's office by studying the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage of areas in the building other than the basement, Senate sergeant-at-arms Jose Balajadia said Monday.

At a press conference, Balajadia said that while CCTV footage showing the Senate basement in 2008 has already been deleted, his team is conducting round-the-clock reviews of footage showing the Senate's lobby and sixth floor, where Estrada's office is located.

"'Yung 2004 onwards and 2010, the other parts of the Senate were already on digital video recordings, which are stored in DVD discs.. Whatever results we have, we will have to tell it in the committee hearing," the Senate security said Monday.

On Thursday, Tuason admitted to personally delivering bags supposedly containing kickbacks from the pork barrel scam to Estrada's Senate office in 2008.

She said she used the side entrance of the Senate building located in the basement, which is reserved only for senators' use, to evade inspection.

In an interview over the weekend, Balajadia however said that the CCTV footage showing the Senate basement is no longer available, because VHS tapes used to record footage until 2010 were only stored for 30 days.

Estrada earlier said that Tuason only brought sandwiches to his Senate office, and not bags of money.

Estrada and Tuason are co-accused in plunder complaints currently pending before the Office of the Ombudsman for their alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam. Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. and Juan Ponce Enrile were also implicated in the supposed anomaly. — BM, GMA News
