MANILA, Philippines—There was no intention to detain comedian and TV host Vhong Navarro, the lawyer of model Deniece Cornejo said, adding that Supreme Court rulings show that rape could happen even within a period of one minute.
“In rape, there is already a decision by the Supreme Court that in a minute, there can already be rape,” lawyer Howard Calleja told reporters Friday.
Cornejo, Cedric Lee and his sister Bernice, and Zimmer Raz appeared before the Department of Justice and submitted their counter-affidavit to Navarro’s complaint.
They are facing charges of serious illegal detention, serious physical injury, grave threats, grave coercion, illegal arrest and blackmail.
