75 Yolanda-stricken families seek refuge in Maasin City and SoLeyte

A total of 75 typhoon Yolanda stricken- families are now temporarily taking refuge mostly among with relatives, friends while the rest are renting houses in the city of Maasin and the province of Southern Leyte. Most of these mentioned families were coming from the supertyphoon Yolanda devastated Leyte towns such as Palo, Tanauan, Tolosa, Dagami, Sta. Fe and Eastern Samar and Tacloban City according to Maasin City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO)and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), as well.
According to CSWDO, 42 survivor-families are now located in Maasin City, where 6 of them stayed with their relatives and friends while 36 families have rented houses/apartments. CSWDO further reported that a total of 208 individuals – survivors are taking refuge in Maasin City, as of this writing. While the PSWDO Provincial Head Minda Rosete noted that 33 Yolanda-stricken families are reportedly staying with relatives and friends in the different municipalities in Southern Leyte with total of 196 individuals.
Rosete further reported that the provincial government of Southern Leyte has already given relief assistance to the said typhoon victims as she also noted that the health concerns of these families were also taken cared of. Some families who earlier stayed with relatives are now renting houses especially if the family members ranges from five to six siblings and parents, it was learned.
