City approves law on ‘half-rice’ order

YOU may soon be able to order half a cup of rice in all restaurants in Mandaue City.

The City Council last Wednesday approved on first reading a proposed ordinance requiring restaurants to include half a cup of rice in their regular menu and make it the default serving of rice.

Councilor Jimmy Lumapas, proponent of the ordinance, said the measure supports the campaign of the National Government for rice self-sufficiency and against wastage of rice.
